Transfer Station Open Saturdays For Dumping Trash

RISON - The Cleveland County Solid Waste Transfer Station on Hwy. 79 at Rison also accepts solid waste on Saturdays in addition to weekdays, County Judge Jimmy Cummings has announced.The transfer station will be open the following hours: Monday: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

PINE BLUFF - Highway 63 Fire Station, located at 10672 Hwy 63, just north of the Cleveland County line in Jefferson County will hold a fundraiser Saturday, April 27 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

RISON - AgHeritage Farm Credit Services is proud to invest annually in the education of the next generation through its scholarship program. In April, 11 scholarships were presented – nine $1,000 Customer Scholarships, one $2,000 University Scholarship and one $1,000 Ken Shea Memorial Scholarship.

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair Association will host its First Sunday Lunch fundraiser, this Sunday, May 5, at the County Fairgrounds. The lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

RISON - Mayor Charles Roberts said he feels unsightly properties around Rison are having a negative impact on the city's ability to attract residential development, and he plans to address the problem very soon.

Despite Rain, Crafts Festival Optimistic About Its Revival

RISON - Despite a threatening weather forecast and rain washing out festivities Saturday afternoon, those behind the effort to revive the Pioneers Crafts Festival at the Pioneer Village in Rison are optimistic that it can once again become a major event for the community.
