Eight States Now Reporting 'Bird Flu' in Cattle

LITTLE ROCK - As highly pathogenic avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu, is detected in cattle in a growing number of states, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture has issued an order restricting livestock exhibiting symptoms or testing positive for the virus from entering the state.

New Edinburg All School Reunion This Saturday

NEW EDINBURG - Re-New-ing Edinburg will once again be the sponsor of the New Edinburg All School Reunion which has been held continuously since the mid 80s or approximately 40 years. The event was first held at the New Edinburg School and recently moved to the New Edinburg Community Center.

Westerman's Mobile Office In Co. Thursday

Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman will have his mobile office available for constituents in Cleveland County at two locations on Thursday, April 25. The mobile office will be located at the Cleveland County Courthouse in Rison 10 a.m. to noon, and at Kingsland City Hall from 1 to 3 p.m.

RISON - Stella-Jones Corporation's Rison plant was the recipient of the 2023 Division Shield Award. The plant hosted a luncheon Tuesday to commemorate the honor with its corporate team members across the nation. The Shield award recognizes Safety Health Improved Environment Leading our Decisions.

Pioneer Village Meeting Thursday

RISON - The Pioneer Village will hold two meetings this month leading up to the Pioneer Crafts Festival, President Marty Bowlin has announced.The Village volunteers will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the Pioneer Village.Anyone interested in assisting with the festival is invited to attend.

She is the daughter of Lulu and Justin Perkins, and the granddaughter of Joy and Bill Robinson, and John and Gina Perkins. SHe has two brothers, Dax and Layne. Her activities and honors include drawing, writing, reading and painting.
