RISON - Local reactions to the first significant solar eclipse to impact Arkansas since 1918 were mixed Monday as many made it a special point to be outside to witness the celestial show while others went about their business as though it was any other day.
THE JOHNSON FAMILY - The Johnson Family bluegrass band will travel from Mayflower to Rison next weekend to perform at the Pioneer Crafts Festival hosted by the Pioneer Village at Rison. The two-day event will take place April 19 and 20 reviving one of the Village’s largest traditions.

RISON - Next weekend will mark the return of the Pioneer Crafts Festival after a 15-year hiatus.The Pioneer Village is reviving the festival for two days of fun, Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.The event will kick off Friday evening at 5 p.m.

CALMER - Mount Olivet Methodist Church at Calmer will have its Food Bank from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 13, the church has announced. Mount Olivet is located at the Hwy. 63/ Hwy. 114 junction at Calmer. The food bank is held the second Saturday of each month.

USDA Commodities To Be Distributed April 13 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.
