Rison Coaching Vacancy Has Drawn 19 Applicants

RISON - Cleveland County School District Athletic Director Davy King told the Herlad Monday night that he has already received 19 applications from coaches interested in becoming the next football coach for the Rison Wildcats.

Mountainburg made a run in the third quarter and then made its free throws down the stretch as the Lady Dragons knocked off the Woodlawn Lady Bears, 6151, in the first round of the Class 2A State Basketball Tournament last Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 27, at Mansfield High School.

RISON - Harmony Grove converted five errors and a triple in the top of the seventh inning into five runs as the Lady Hornets rallied late to come away with a 14-12 victory over the Rison Lady Wildcats in a wild nonconference game Tuesday at Lady Wildcat Field.

Apparently, the Woodlawn Lady Bears' late-season turnaround is still underway.After making a run to the 8-2A District Tournament championship game, the Lady Bears responded with a third-place finish at the Class 2A South Region Tournament last week at Acorn High School.
