Woodlawn’s Jude Rauls Sets New AHSPLA Record

MONTICELLO - Woodlawn’s Jude Rauls set a new Arkansas High School Powerlifting Association (AHSPLA) record in the bench press and tied the record in total lift weight for the 148-pound classification at the Monticello Power Meet held Saturday at Monticello High School. Rauls lifted 270 lbs.

Squirrel Hunt Benefiting Jakes Day This Saturday

RISON - The Cleveland County “Cutters and Strutters” Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will be conducting their annual fundraising event to help fund the chapter’s “Jakes” Day.    A competitive squirrel hunt will be conducted on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 3.

Jr. Bears Split Two Games

GURDON - Landon Pratt scored 22 points and Mark Adams had 10 as the Woodlawn Junior Bears picked up their second league win of the year with a 47-32 win over the Gurdon Junior Go Devils in an 8-2A conference game last Tuesday at Gurdon.

‘Cats Still Seeking First Win of Year

RISON - Rison continues to search for that first win of the season after the Wildcats fell to the Ouahcita Warriors, 72-45, in an 8-2A conference game last Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Rison Gym. The loss dropped the ‘Cats to 0-5 in conference play and 0-14 overall.

Lady Bears Drop Two 8-2A Games

WOODLAWN  - The Woodlawn Lady Bears dropped both of their 8-2A conference games last week, falling to the Gurdon Lady Devils, 56-40,  in a road last  Tuesday on the road and then suffering a 45-33 setback to the league-leading Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans last Friday at the Woodlawn Gym.
