Jr. 'Cats Grab Lead, But Stuttgart Prevails

RISON - The Rison Junior Wildcats grabbed an 8-0 lead early in the second quarter, but Stuttgart responded with three touchdowns before the half ended and the Ricebirds went on wear down the hosts for a 49-24 victory in a non-conference contest at George Walker Field of Champions Tuesday night.

Woodlawn Baseball Championship Ring Banquet Monday

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Baseball Coach Tommy Richardson has announced that the 2023 State Championship Ring Presentation Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Woodlawn School cafeteria. The banquet will be catered with catfish. Tickets will be available at the door.

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn scored on its first four possessions as the Junior Bears overpowered the first-year Guy-Perkins Junior Thunderbirds, 40-16, in a non-conference game last Friday afternoon at the Carl Jones Sports Complex.

McKinney Scores For Rison 7th Grade

RISON - Mike Kinney had Rison’s lone touchdown, as the Wildcat 7th graders were downed by the Drew Central 7th graders, 30-6, in a preliminary game Thursday evening, prior to the junior contest.  The loss dropped Rison to 1-2 on the season.

Makeshift Bears Come Up Short To Genoa Central
