Bears, 'Cats, Lady Bears Set For Regionals Thurs.

RISON - The Rison Wildcats and Woodlawn Bears will be competing in the Class 2A South Region Baseball Tournament beginning this Thursday at Horatio while the Woodlawn Lady Bears will be competing in the South Region Softball Tournament Thursday at Horatio.
CRUCIAL PLAY AT THE PLATE - Rison catcher James Jacobs lunges toward home plate to make a play on Woodlawn's Austin Howard as he attempts to steal home in the top of the fourth inning. Howard made his move as the Wildcats made a throw to first, but an alert Rison first baseman Jared Saeler made the throw back home to get the call for the third out. Woodlawn's Dylan Butler is in the background. Howard's run would have given the Bears the lead after Tate Hall had driven in the tying run to make it 2-2.

'Cats Push Bears Before Bishop's Slammer Turns Game

WOODLAWN - For more than four innings, the Rison Wildcats were giving the topranked Woodlawn Bears all they wanted. But the Bears' Jase Bishop blasted a grand slam homerun with two out in the fifth to break the game open and Woodlawn pulled away from there for a 15-2 victory.
