First Sunday Lunch March 3 at Fairgrounds

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair Association will host its First Sunday Lunch fundraiser, this Sunday, March 3, at the County Fairgrounds.The lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.This month's menu includes spaghetti, chicken spaghetti, salad, bread, tea and dessert.

Woodlawn Elementary Holds Multiplication Bee

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Elementary School first annual multiplication bee finals were held Feb. 23. Hannah Watt, fourth grade Math teacher, hosted the event. Third through sixth grade students competed in voluntary classroom rounds. Twenty-seven students advanced to the semi final rounds.

Wildfire Conditions Are High In County

At approximately 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, the Rison Fire Department reported that it was dispatched to a structure fire in the 400 block of East Magnolia. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. Hwy 35 South Fire Department assisted.

RISON - Organizers are expecting hundreds of youth from throughout the region to make their way to Rison this Saturday for the 24th Annual JAKES Day sponsored by the Cleveland County Cutters & Strutters chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF).
