CCSB Postpones Meeting to Oct. 16

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted to move its October meeting to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the administration building in Rison. The Cleveland County School Board usually meets on the second Monday of each month.

Christmas Parade Seeks Float Entries

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development is seeking local churches, businesses, groups and others to put togethger a float fo the 2023 Cleveland County Christmas Parade to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in downtown Rison.

Shady Grove Cemetery To Meet on Oct. 1

NEW EDINBURG - The Shady Grove Cemetery will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at the New Edinburg Community Center. Anyone with loved ones in the cemetery or have an interest in the cemetery are invited to attend.

Halloween Events To Be Held Oct. 31 in Downtown Rison

RISON - The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills and Rison Shine Community Development have announced they will be hosting events on Halloween night, Tuesday, Oct. 31. The Green House Cottages, 701 Main Street, will be hosting a Fall Festival from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Wesley Chapel Reunion Oct. 1

WOODLAWN - Wesley Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its reunion Sunday, Oct. 1 at Wesley Chapel Church. A meal will start at 12:30 p.m.. Please bring tables and chairs for eating. The annual business meeting will follow the meal. Discussion will include saving the church building.

Mt. Olivet To Host Pancake Supper This Sunday Night

CALMER - Mt. Olivet Global Methodist Church will be hosting Pancake Supper from 5 to 8 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 1, at the church. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds support the women's Hearts and Hands group.

Rison Elementary Monday - creamy ham and broccoli alfredo or Bird Dog. Tuesday - nachos or hamburger. Wednesday - Loaded Baked Potato or chicken sandwich. Thursday - Chicken Combo or hot ham and cheese. Friday - Pizza, Pizza and sidekicks! Nachos for 4-6 grades.

WWII Service Quilt Books Available Now in Rison

RISON - "The Service Men's World War II Quilt" booklet, which tells the story of the quilt has the names of over 900 WWII service men and women from Cleveland County embroidered on it has been printed and is now available for purchase.

RUMC Adds Food Donation Box To Gateway Bank

RISON - In an effort to help those in the community who need help in feeding their families, Rison United Methodist Church's Community Outreach program is installing a donation box in Gateway Bank. Anyone who wishes to help in this effort may drop off items for the food pantry at the bank.
