Carmikle Welcomes Open Date As 'Cats Look To Improve, Heal

RISON - Head coach Caleb Carmikle of Rison said Monday that it's "a good time for it," as he commented about this week's open date before the Wildcats resume action Sept. 22 when they host the currently undefeated and highly-ranked Hoxie Mustangs.

Cattle Insemination Workshops Planned

Local School Districts Prepare Budgets

RISON - Both the Cleveland County and Woodlawn School Board meetings have been postponed this week to allow their respective superintendents and staff more time to finalize their 2023-24 school budgets, the first such budgets under the new LEARNS education plan.

Woodlawn Board To Begin Process For Facility Projects

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School Board will be hearing three "Requests for Qualifications" about developing facility plans for the district during its September meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, according to Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock.
