Cleveland Co. Cares To Host BBQ Fundraiser Lunch on Nov. 19

RISON - Cleveland County Cares, a non-profit groups that helps provide Christmas for needy families in the county, is hosting a pulled pork barbeque sandwich fundraiser beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in the fellowship hall at Rison Baptist Church. Take-out will be available.

Pesticide Training Dec. 7 in Rison

RISON - The Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a Pesticide Applicator Training Session Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Cleveland County Veteran's Building at 6 p.m. Each participant will be charged a $20 training fee which will go towards training materials.

Program Offers Free Chiropractic Adjustments for Vets

Dr. Alexander Rejistre, Sr. of Hands For Veterans, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is offering free chiropractic adjustments for veterans and first responders at his located at 401 West Third and Jefferson Streets in Gould.

Rison Students of the Month

Logan Miller, an 8th grader at Rison Middle School was named October student of the month for grades 7-9. Logan is the son of David and Nicole Miller, and the grandson of Susan Nichols and David Yardley, and Judy and Chuck Hansis. He has two siblings, Tyler and Sarah.
These students consistently exhibited good behavior and were nominated by their homeroom teachers for the month of October. WHS Spanish Club Hosting Sock Drive

WOODLAWN - The second annual Toasty Toes sock drive is being sponsored by Woodlawn High School Spanish classes and Spanish Club. The goal is to collect at least 350 pairs of socks so that each Woodlawn Elementary student in Kindergarten through sixth grade will receive socks.

Food Pantry Saturday, Nov. 18 at Macedonia MBC

RISON - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, located on Hwy. 35 South, will open its Food Pantry Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The church holds its food pantry the third Saturday of each month.

AGFC Confirms Sighting of Mountain Lion at Amity

AMITY - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has confirmed a mountain lion sighting near Amity in Clark County. The sighting was reported by a hunter who captured the animal on a game camera. AGFC biologists have investigated the sighting and determined that it is credible.

Rison Cafeteria Plans Approved By State

RISON - The Cleveland County School District could be opening bids for the Rison School cafeteria expansion by mid-December, Superintendent Jerrod Williams told the Cleveland County School Board Tuesday night.
