Woodlawn Students Art Featured in YAA Exhibit

Macie Marcantel (first grade), Ella Burris (fourth grade) and Aiden Womack (sixth grade), all students at Woodlawn Elementary, were featured in the annual Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock. Each student won honorable mention for their grade level.

Cummings Addresses Leaky Roofs at 4 County Buildings

RISON - County Judge Jimmy Cummings addressed leaky roof problems at four county buildings and also got approval for a settlement regarding a business sign that was damaged by a county road grader during the Cleveland County Quorum Court's regular monthly meeting Monday night.

RISON - Col. Ralph Tildon recalled the first time he ever spoke with Staff Sgt. Danny Lee Jacks said a lot about the kind of person that Jacks was.
It was in Vietnam in the fall of 1969 and Tildon was serving as an executive officer in the same Army company as Jacks.

Fordyce Woman Dies in One-Car Wreck at Kingsland

RISON - Rae Payne, 47, of Fordyce, died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle accident along Hwy. 79 at the Panther Creek bridge in Kingsland, Arkansas State Police reported.
Payne, according the state police report, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord southbound along Hwy.

Five From County Will Compete In Miss Arkansas, Teen Pageants

LITTLE ROCK - Cleveland County will have representation in both Miss Arkansas and Miss Arkansas' Teen pageant competitions held this week in Little Rock.
Alli Beth King of Rison, the reigning Miss Southeast Arkansas will compete for the Miss Arkansas title during Saturday's pageant.
