USDA Commodities To Be Distributed May 6 at Kingsland

KINGSLAND - The Open Door Community Pantry located at 650 Hwy. 97 in Kingsland will be handing out USDA commodities from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6. Open Door Pantry usually distributes commodities on the second Saturday of each month. The pantry is an equal opportunity distributor.

Bears, 'Cats, Lady Bears Set For Regionals Thurs.

RISON - The Rison Wildcats and Woodlawn Bears will be competing in the Class 2A South Region Baseball Tournament beginning this Thursday at Horatio while the Woodlawn Lady Bears will be competing in the South Region Softball Tournament Thursday at Horatio.

Saeler, Taylor Competing For CCSB Zone 3 Position

RISON - Voters in Zone 3 of the Cleveland County School District will go to the polls this Tuesday to decide who will represent the zone on the seven-member Cleveland County School Board for the next five years. Zone 3 is currently represented by Kelly Taylor, who is seeking re-election.

The Extension Office and Health Unit are located next to one another on Magnolia Street in Rison. The county jail, located in the county courthouse complex, is having the same issue as well.

County Committee to Focus on Broadband

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum addressed issues ranging from broadband internet service for the county, leaking roofs and settling an insurance claim involving a road grader accident during Monday night's regular monthly meeting at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building in Rison.

Local Schools Set Graduation Dates

RISON - Rison and Woodlawn High Schools have announced their graduation plans for the Class of 2023. Rison High School will have its graduation ceremony at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at George Walker Field of Champions. Woodlawn High School will hold its graduation ceremony beginning at 7 p.m.
