EL DORADO - El Dorado attorney, John Thomas Shepherd, has announced his intention to seek election as Fourth Division Circuit Judge in the 13th Judicial District.

Pesticide Training Tuesday at Rison

RISON - The Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service will be conducting a pesticide applicator training session Tuesday, March 21 at the Veterans Building beginning at 6 p.m. Each participant will be charged a $20 training fee which will go towards training materials.

RISON - The Cleveland County Cutters & Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) could be moving its Jakes Day youth event to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds next year after seeing a record turnout this year.

CCSB Approves New Admin Job For Various Duties

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board approved Superintendent Craig Dupuy's recommendation Monday night to create a new position for an athletics, transportation and maintenance director. The motion was only to create the position, and did not include anyone to fill the job.

Hancock Discusses New Law's Impact on WSD

WOODLAWN - Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock gave the Woodlawn School Board an overview of what impact Gov. Sarah Sanders' education plan could have on the district during a busy regular monthly meeting Monday night inside the Woodlawn School cafetorium.

Fairgrounds Hosts Backwoods Poultry Show

The Backwoods Poultry Show, organized by Frankie Harper of the Cleveland County Fair Board, was held this past Saturday at the fairgrounds in Rison. The show, which featured chickens, ducks and geese, drew contestants from across Arkansas as well as Iowa, Oklahoma and Missouri.
