Kingsland To Apply For $550,000 Grant

KINGSLAND - The Kingsland City Council approved the city's 2023 budget during its regular monthly meeting last Thursday and also approved three resolutions that will give Mayor Sharon Crosby permission to apply for a $550,000 wastewater grant through the state.

Quorum Court Will Meet This Monday

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court has moved its January meeting to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, due to a conflict with the New Year's Day holiday. The meeting will be held at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building rather than the courtroom inside the courthouse.

Cummings Lays Out Plans for County

RISON - While Cleveland County has enjoyed some better than expected financial numbers over the past few years, incoming County Judge Jimmy Cummings said that could be changing as the reduced population figures from the 2020 census may finally be showing up in reduced revenue for the county.
