Rejuvenated NWTF Jakes Day Sees One of Best Crowds Ever

RISON - Organizers for the Cleveland County Cutters & Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) are already discussing the possibility of having to find a new home for its Jakes Day next year as Saturday's youth event drew a record-breaking crowd.

Old Kingsland Post Office Featured in Capitol Exhibit

LITTLE ROCK - The current Post Office Exhibit located on the main floor of the Capitol Building includes photos of Johnny Cash at the Old Kingsland Post Office along with his friend, Johnny Horton, in May 1959 while they were visiting the area on a fishing trip.

RISON - The Cleveland County Veterans Office will host a special photo session Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Veterans Building in Rison from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This session is for all female Veterans in the county to be part of a special program honoring the 75th anniversary of women in the service.
