Lady Bears Continue Late Season Surge at Regionals

Apparently, the Woodlawn Lady Bears' late-season turnaround is still underway.After making a run to the 8-2A District Tournament championship game, the Lady Bears responded with a third-place finish at the Class 2A South Region Tournament last week at Acorn High School.

Lavaca Ends Woodlawn's Season; Bears 4th in Region

The Woodlawn Bears earned their first state tournament bid since 2019 last week but came up short at the Class 2A State Tournament being hosted by Mansfield High School Tuesday night with a 60-52 loss to the Lavaca Golden Arrows. Game details were not available at press time.

WOODLAWN - Peyton Wells held the Class 4A Arkadelphia Badgers to just one run in his pitching debut for Woodlawn Monday afternoon as the Bears picked up a 3-1 victory in the season opener for both teams.

RISON - After trailing by four runs early, Rison fought back to make it a one-run game before the Crossett Eagles used a couple of clutch two-out hits in the sixth to come away with 7-3 victory over the Wildcats Tuesday evening at Wildcat Field.
