Why Knots Club Presents Quilts to Sheriff

RISON - The 'Why Knots' Extension Homemakers Club presented six comfort quilts to Sheriff Jack Rodgers of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department, Monday January 19.

Potter Named to UCA Dean's List

CONWAY - Audrey Potter of Rison, was named to the fall 2025 Dean's List at the University of Central Arkansas.Potter was among more than 1,600 students named to the fall 2025 Dean's List.Eligibility on the Dean's List requires at least a 3.5 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours.

County Bracing For Winter Storm

RISON - Cleveland County as well as all surrounding counties were placed under a winter storm watch by the National Weather Service (NWS) on Tuesday afternoon.According to the NWS, a “high impact winter weather event” is expected to occur between 6 p.m. Friday night, Jan. 23, through 6 a.m.

Rison United Methodist Food Pantry Moved To Friday

Due to the potential for winter precipitation on Saturday, Rison United Methodist Church has announced it is moving its Food Pantry distribution originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, to 8 a.m. this Friday, Jan. 23, at Rison United Methodist Church, 800 Main Street in Rison.
