Gospel Concert To Feature Haley Creek Boys

The Haley Creek Boys, a bluegrass/gospel group based in the Hamburg area, will be performing a Gospel Concert at the Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. The church is located at 220 First Street in Kingsland.

Elyse Brenner, a 7th grader at Rison Middle School, was named January student of the month for grades 7-9. Elyse is the daughter of Marietta Brenner. She is the granddaughter of Susan and John Cooke, and Judi and Charlie Brenner. She has one brother, Robert.

Two Rison girls were crowned "sister queens" this past weekend at the Arts and Science Center in Pine Bluff. Mallory Stuckey (right) was named Miss South Arkansas' Outstanding Teen and Cayla Johnson (left) was named Miss South Central's Outstanding Teen.

The New Edinburg Community Center hosts Santa each year, providing children with free toys and treats. This year’s Santa visit was held last Friday and Saturday.
