Pioneer Village Meeting April 11, 18

RISON - The Pioneer Village will hold two meetings this month leading up to the Pioneer Crafts Festival, President Marty Bowlin has announced.Volunteers will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, and Thursday, April 18 at the Pioneer Village.

Skywarn Weather Training is Tuesday

RISON - Anyone interested in learning more about severe weather and possibly becoming a storm spotter is encouraged to attend a Skywarn class to held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across the courthouse in Rison.

Rison Fire Department Receives Grant

RISON - The Rison Fire Department received a grant from the Arkansas Forestry Division for the purpose of better equipping the department for wildland firefighting. Included in the grant were two leaf blowers, several rakes, and a few sets of wildland coveralls and gloves.
