Jim and Teresa Jackson of Conway are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Victoria, to Jacob Scott Hall, son of Scott and Amy Hall of Rison. Jacob is currently employed as a Transmission System Operator at Entergy.

State Releases Collections From Tax Delinquent Sale

LITTLE ROCK – The recent auction of tax-delinquent properties in Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha, Drew and Lincoln counties raised over $389,000 ; the Commissioner of State Lands announced. The regional auction drew 97 registered bidders, who purchased 120 of 169 parcels for $389,548.90.

Bro. Temple To Lead Friendship Revival

WOODLAWN - Bro. Jeff Temple, pastor of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be leading revivial services at 7 p.m. nightly from Monday, Aug. 14, through Friday, Aug. 18, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy. 63 north of Woodlawn School. All are welcome.

Cummings Offers Standards To Take New County Roads

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum Court is considering a new ordinance proposed by County Judge Jimmy Cummings that would set guidelines on any road that is accepted in the county's road system. Cummings proposed the ordinance during the quorum court's regular monthly meeting Monday night.

CCSD, Woodlawn Schools Start 2023-24 School Year on Monday

RISON - Students in both the Cleveland County and Woodlawn School Districts will begin the 2023-24 school year this Monday, Aug. 14.
