Whispering Pines Cowboy Church Begins VBS Monday

PINE BLUFF - Whispering Pines Cowboy Church at Pine Bluff will be hosting a Vacation Bible School called “Yee Haw Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift” from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 26. Classes will be available for kindergarten through sixth grade.

Lady Chops To Visit Library Monday

RISON - The Roy and Christine Sturgis Library will close its Summer Series program at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, when Lady Chops (Elizabeth Vidos) will bring her one-woman drumming show to the library. Her performances are energetic, interactive and fun for all ages.

Wildland Fire Class Set For August 7-8 at New Edinburg

NEW EDINBURG - the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division will conduct a Wildland Firefighting Class from 6 to 10 p.m. August 7-8 at the New Edinburg Community Center, 6590 Hwy. 8 in New Edinburg. All firefighters are welcome.

Extension Office Hosts 4-H Youth Sewing Camp

The Cleveland County Extension Service kicked off its very first 4-H youth sewing camp last week. This group of young ladies allowed their creativity to flourish while completing their very own individual projects.

Rison Methodist Food Pantry Saturday

RISON - Rison United Methodist Church will be hosting a food pantry from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month. The next food pantry will be held Saturday, July 22.

VBS This Week at Rison Baptist

RISON - Rison Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 16-20 from 6 to 8 p.m. each night. Classes will be for ages 3 through going into 12th grade. Dimer will be served. The theme is Twists & Turns: Following Jesus Changes the Game, Psalm 25:4.

RISON - Despite hot temperatures and heat advisories being issued, Cleveland County Judge Jimmy Cummings said the county is still experiencing bouts of heavy rain that are leading to washouts along county roads.
