WARREN - Bradley County Extension Agent John Gavin has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2025.Gavin began his career with the Extension Service in Nevada County in 1985 where he stayed for 4 years before transferring to Union County.

UAM to offer PhD in Forest Resources

MONTICELLO, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello will offer a Ph.D. in forest resources in the spring 2026 semester, following recent approval from the Higher Learning Commission.The University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees approved the program in October 2024.

The City of Rison is currently under a boil water after a 6-inch water main broke Sunday afternoon dropping water pressure below 20 psi. Joe Freyer, utilities manager for the City of Rison, said he received an alert via the automated alert system at 2:34 p.m.

Rison Approves Pay Raises For Employees

RISON - The Rison City Council approved a $1,200 raise for all hourly city employees during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night.The council unanimously approved Mayor Charles Roberts' recommendation to approved the raises after meeting in executive session.

Cruisin' Cleveland County Bike Ride Gives Back To Community

The Cruisin' Cleveland County Bike Ride organizers made donations in the toal amount of $4,500 Wednesday, Nov. 19 to multiple local organizations and charities from profits from the June 2025 bike ride.
