Dermott Forfeits Friday’s Varsity, Junior High Games

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Coach Zach Meyer annonced Tuesday that the Dermott Rams have forfeited both their varsity and junior high games that were scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 14, at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Both matchups were South Conference games.

Bears Overcome Early Deficit; Rush Past Strong, 50-20

WOODLAWN - Strong used its speed and athleticism to jump out to an early lead but the more seasoned Woodlawn Bears quickly regained control to pull away for a 50-20 win over the young but talented Bulldogs.

RISON - The Strong Junior Bulldogs got off to a fast start and never looked back as they rolled to a 42-0 victory over the Woodlawn Junior Bears in a South Conference junior high game last Friday afternoon at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. Woodlawn struggled to get much offense going.

Meyer Looks To Work On Pass Game Against Hermits

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn will be looking to improve to 2-0 in South Conference play this Friday night with the Bears host the Hermitage Hermits for homecoming at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. The junior high teams will kick off at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity teams at 7 p.m.

Wildcats, Hornets Clash Friday in Crucial 6-3A Battle

RISON - To say Camden Harmony Grove has had Rison's number of late would be an understatement. Not only do the Hornets own three straight wins over the Wildcats, dating back to 2017, but they piled up an average of 38 points a game in the victories, including last year's 41-30 decision at Camden.

Woodlawn Junior Bears Finish 2nd at Two Meets

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Junior High girls and boys cross country teams traveled to El Dorado to compete in the El Dorado Wildcat Invitational this past Saturday, Oct. 1, on a 1.7-mile track. Coach Sydney Adair reported the junior boys finished second place overall.

'Cats, Jr. Wildcats Both Off This Week

RISON - The Rison Wildcats and the Rison Junior Wildcats both have byes this week so neither team will play Thursday or Friday. The Junior ‘Cats are nest scheduled to travel to Harmony Grove for a 6-3A conference game at 7 p.m. next Thursday, Oct. 6.

Rison Pee Wee Football Hosting Jamboree Saturday

RISON - The Rison Pee Wee Football Association will be hosting a jamboree this Saturday, Oct. 1, at George Walker Field of Champions, organizers have announced. Rison will hold Pee Wee Homecoming ceremonies at 4 p.m. Games will begin at 9 a.m. with the final game scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Cats Feast on Cardinals’ Miscues for 51-0 Blowout Win

PINE BLUFF - Feasting on a buffet of Dollarway miscues from start to finish, the Rison Wildcats opened their 6-3 A Conference rate with a 51-0 blowout of the Cardinals last Friday night. Since the 'Cats and Cards became league foes in 2018.
