HAMBURG - A slow start put the Woodlawn Lady Bears in a 14-point hole by the end of the first quarter as the Class 4A Hamburg Lady Lions managed to hold on in the second half for a 43-33 win in the Lady Bears' season opener Monday night at Hamburg.

Wildcats Take On Bismarck; Bears Advance to Semifinals

RISON - The Rison Wildcats and Woodlawn Bears will both try to extend their seasons this Friday night as they head into second round of the state playoffs. Rison (9-0), the 6-3A conference champions, will host the Bismarck Lions, the no. 3 seed from the 4-3A conference, at 7 p.m.
KINES TURNS THE CORNER - Rison running back DJ Kines (right, no. 7) finds the edge on the Drew Central defense to race 38 yards for the Wildcats’ first touchdown of the game. Kines finished with 165 yards rushing on 13 carries while fellow senior running back Bradyn Dupuy had 88 yards on 17 attempts, putting both over the 1,000yard rushing mark in final game of the regular season.
