Ballot Draw To Be Held Dec. 4 at Rison

RISON - The Cleveland County Election Commission has announced that the ballot draw for the 2026 Preferential Primary Election will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Cleveland County Courthouse, 20 East Magnolia Street in Rison.The public is invited to attend.

Kingsland Council Meeting Canceled

KINGSLAND - The November meeting of the Kingsland City Council was canceled last Thursday evening due to a lack of a quorum of council members.Mayor Karen Wiscaver said the meeting will not be made up, and the business on the November agenda will be addressed during the December meeting.

Some Government Offices Will Close On Friday As Well

RISON - All federal, state and local government offices, as well as the U.S. Post Office and banks, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Christmas Parade Set for Dec. 11

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. will host the Cleveland County Christmas Parade Thursday, Dec. 11 beginning at 7 p.m.The parade will begin in Downtown Rison with floats lining up along Pine and First Streets before making its way South on Main Street.
