'Attitude Adjustment' Propels Bears Past Midland, 42-32

WOODLAWN - With his Bears trailing last year's state finalist, the Midland Mustangs, by three scores at halftime, Woodlawn Coach Doug Means said the only thing his team really needed during the break was a little attitude adjustment.

Woodlawn Takes on South Side In Final Non-Conference Game

Woodlawn will have its final non-conference game of the season this Thursday when the Bears travel to Hendrix College in Conway to play the South Side-Bee Branch Hornets. The junior high teams will kick off at 5:30 p.m with the varsity teams playing afterwards.

Junior Bears Shutout Midland

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn quarterback Greyson Jones threw a couple of touchdown passes while 7th graders Carson Young and D.C. Heflin had a couple of long scoring runs as the Junior Bears shutout the Midland Junior Mustangs, 34-0, last Friday afternoon at the Carl Jones Sports complex.

ROSE BUD - While it certainly didn't win any beauty contests, first-year Woodlawn Coach Doug Means took it none the less as his Bears overcame a shaky start and 135 yards in penalties to pick up a 42-24 win over the Rose Bud Ramblers in the season opener Friday night at Rose Bud.
